Limited edition of 975 numbered copies, this no. 689 presented to Gustave E Hull by the Mercanthaler Linotype Company.
This selection of specimen page is taken from the “distinguished books designed by Mr Bruce Rogers for composition on the Linotype; each specimen signature being reprinted on the same paper and in the same colors as the original volume.”
The books represented are Washington Irving’s “The Sketch Book”, The Psalms of David, Beatty’s “Relation of art to nature”, Saunders’ “Skallagrim”, George Moore’s “Peronnik the Fool”, Stevenson’s “Monmouth”, Sassoon’s “The Heart’s Journey”, and Humbert Wolfe’s “The Silver Cat and Other Poems”.

First US edition of this “keepsake for collectors of Rogersiana”, with facsimiles of 4 pages from the Oxford Lectern Bible. “Because of its historical significance we asked Mr Rogers to write his own story of the making of the Oxford Bible, and to supervise the printing of this booklet in the Bible Centaur type. With both of these requests he has kindly complied.”

First edition, limited edition of 124 copies, signed by Haberly on colophon leaf. With an ALS with original envelope from Haberly to Sir Harry and Lady Newton thanking them for their hospitality at a party.

Reprinted from a ballad sheet of 1624, with a brief note on the life of the author: “He had seen visions in childhood and at thirty nine he was summoned to become the Prophet and founder of a new sect called the Family of Love, whose chief doctrine was love of humanity...”
