Folio, original calf backed vellum boards, lettered in gilt on spine. Text printed in red, blue and black with initial letters by Graily Hewitt in red and blue. Spine a little sunned and marked, some spotting to edges, otherwise a very good copy.
Limited edition of 200 copies on paper. There were also 15 copies printed on vellum. The last of the Ashendene Folios printed in the Subiaco type. Original prospectus (browned) loosely inserted.

Quick and and George H. Ford; spine of Vol. 1 a little brown-spotted, spine labels a little browned, otherwise a very nice set, with an armorial bookplate in each volume.
One of 225 copies on Batchelor paper out of a total edition of 245. This is one of the major works of the Ashendene Press. “These two volumes forming one complete work were the first to be printed in my new Ptolemy type ... a noteworthy feature of the book are the initials and borders designed by Mrs. Alfred Powell, which show great variety and skill.” (C.
