Brother expands B
rother is strengthening its position in the A3 colour market with the launch of a new
range designed to cater for ambitious small businesses ready to invest in effective technology. The three new all- in-one models follow the success of Brother’s launch of its A3 multifunction inkjet range, which brought affordable A3 printing to growing businesses in professional services including construction, architecture, design and marketing.
Each has been designed with additional and
improved features such as duplex (double-sided) functions to cater for the increasing demands of the small business market wanting a cost-effective and reliable machine for everyday use. The Professional A3 range will also enable Brother to further increase its share of the A3 colour market, of which it has dominated by 47 per cent in just under two years*.
Faster speeds and more printing options
Phil Jones, sales and marketing director for Brother, said: “A3 printers are becoming an essential tool in
many professional industries, where companies need to produce professional, cost- effective documents, brochures and leaflets in-house. Our new range of A3 printers have been designed to help resellers sell to ambitious small businesses that see the potential in investing in new technology, and have the capacity to invest in new technology to support their 2011 growth. With faster speeds and a wider range of printing options, we feel this new range puts our resellers in a very strong position to seek out pockets of growth and cater for the evolving requirements of fast-paced small businesses in their region.”
Each of the three models offer four-in-one functionality – A3 print, copy, scan and fax – as well as a new generation print head which increases the print speeds by three times versus its previous range launched in 2008. They also allow Brother to provide Images per Minute (IPM) ratings, with a competitive 12ipm for mono and 10ipm for colour.

Highest ink yield
Additional highlights of the new range are the XL cartridge, which offers Brother’s highest ever ink yield, meaning a cheaper cost per page for the user; automatic duplex print, up to A3, as standard, meaning less paper is used; a large colour LCD screen; plus enhanced connectivity, with fast wireless N technology and Hi Speed USB 2.0 and wired network.
In addition, the top of the range machine provides a dual scanner allowing fast A4 automatic double sided copying and scanning for improved document
management capabilities. The range also offers an embedded web server, making it easier for employees to check the status of print jobs and configure the machines. The MFC J6910DW was launched in February, with the MFC J6710DW and MFC J6510DW scheduled to be introduced to the market this month.
