The PA550 was also the subject of a presentation given by Unitech at the event. EPoS Distributor, the retail products sales division of Varlink, spoke to VARs and systems integrators about a range of benefits on offer; including high service levels, attractive margins, credit facilities, wide product range, product training opportunities, marketing services and dedicated sales contacts. Among the highlights on Opticon’s stand this year was the company’s OPN-2002 Bluetooth data collector, now compatible with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Small and compact, OPN-2002 is embedded with a laser barcode scanner. The data collector also weighs less than 30 grams, making it truly pocketable.
Last September it was announced that Varlink had become a UK distributor for the ATEX-certified Getac ultra-rugged PS236 handheld Windows Mobile PDA and the fully rugged PS535F. Getac staff were on hand at this year’s show to talk to VARs and systems integrators about this development. The company also gave a presentation previewing its new fully rugged smartphone, the IP65-rated MH132 with MIL-STD- 810G.
