Avnet can deliver true value added distribution.
One of Avnet’s most significant assets, that all our partners can leverage, is our centralised state-of-the-art integration and distribution centre in Tongeren, Belgium. With over 44,000 m2 of fully automated warehouse space, resellers can arrange shipment of hardware across Europe for next day delivery. In addition, the ISO certified integration centre offers a highly
Intermec partner summit solutions forum.
The broadening of Intermec’s portfolio doesn’t stop at hardware. At Intermec’s recent EMEA partner summit held in Rome, which was attended by more than 550 delegates across EMEA, the vendor outlined a strategic vision to go beyond hardware, providing end-to- end solutions to help end user customers transform their business processes. To facilitate this, Intermec has started developing an ecosystem of software solutions designed specifically to work in conjunction with its mobile computers. These solutions include, VERDEX, an enhanced data collection solution for the verification of
postal addresses and Skynax mobile device software. Finally the company has also recently announced the pending acquisition of Vocollect, the leading provider of voice- centric solutions for mobile workers worldwide, which will enable resellers to take advantage of the growing voice market during 2011.
The importance of true value added distribution
As auto ID hardware becomes more of a commodity, resellers will be faced with the increasing pressure to deliver end-to-end solutions. While Intermec have put the foundations in place to support this change of strategy, I believe that distribution also has a significant role to play in helping our resellers to deliver successful solutions time and time again. comprehensive range of services. Based in the same building as the warehouse, Avnet is able to save resellers considerable amounts of time and effort by coordinating shipments, charging batteries, pre-loading software and more. This ensures that the products shipped will be ready for use by the end user straight out of the box adding value to reseller partners.
It is a priority for Avnet to ensure that we are doing everything that we can to ensure that our partners are equipped to capitalise on the market opportunity outlined by recent VDC research. Mobility is a strong area for Avnet throughout EMEA and this is a message that is reinforced right from the top by Avnet’s new CEO elect, Rick Hamada.
