As Mrs Devonshire and Mrs Shackleton were compiling this magazine of life at Hallfield in 2008/09, information was pouring into their office from staff about activities and trips and clubs from the current year, many of which were the same things. It was, they said, like living in a parallel universe! Same trips, same clubs, same fixtures, same holidays – same magazine!
It isn’t the same magazine or the same story, because the children make each activity, day-out and holiday unique. Their humour, their hard work, their personalities are the things that make Hallfield the special place it is – and these qualities shine out in this publication, which I think you’ll agree is as bright and lively as the children themselves.
Many of the articles and reports have appeared on our new website in a longer format. In this publication we have concentrated more on a photographic record of the School year, with less text, as we feel a picture speaks a thousand words!
It is a colourful record of a typical year at Hallfield.
