Osprey Point Retreat and Conference
Center, in Royal Oak, Maryland offers a
magnificent view of Chesapeake Bay and
its tributaries.The resort’s grounds encom-
pass 15 acres of breathtaking, secluded
waterfront property.
The venue is located on a private, isolated
peninsula that was first purchased by
Dutchman Louis Plansoen, a self-made
millionaire. Plansoen needed a quiet,safe
and secluded place to keep his yacht, the
Juniata - and many others he owned - so
he purchased the peninsula. After some
time, he decided to “beach” the yacht on
land in order to preserve it further.
Today,those attending meetings at Osprey
Point will find that the yacht has been
replaced with a modern, beautifully
appointed 25-room retreat and confer-
ence center, which has been compared to
the very best small, private conference
