Product Highlight: Hasco Hi-Rel Electromechanical and Reed Relays
E
lectromechanical relays, which had been widely used in the past by the telecom industry, today have a wide range of appli-
cations in high-reliability industries like aero- space, automotive and defense. They are used in fire safety devices, lighting controls, sensors, HVAC, and all sorts of other systems. Hasco Relays and Electronics manufactures
relays and reed relays, and is a value-added sup- plier of reed switches that are formed to customer specifications. Founded in 1976 and headquar- tered in New York, the company also operates an ISO 9001- and ISO 14001-certified manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China.

as well as 24 types of reed relays, that range from milliamps to 100 A. The selection includes both DC and AC coil voltages and can also be configured
from single-pole up to four-pole. Reed switches are available in 20 different types. They can be formed for SMT or through-hole applications. They are suit- able for use in such applications as liquid level sen- sors, magnetic door contacts, proximity reed devices, or as reed relays. The company’s electromechanical relays are
certified by UL for the U.S. and Canada, with most of the products TUV-rated. Available in a variety of amperage, they range from less than one amp up to 100 A. Relays can be made with both AC or DC coils and come sealed for wave soldering and wash- ing, which allows them to be implemented effi- ciently into an assembly line.
