Nordson MARCH Plasma System Doubles in Capacity
Concord, CA — Nordson MARCH, a provider of plasma cleaning equipment, has introduced its ModVIA™ plasma system. The system is fully- integrated and flexible, and can double in capacity from four to eight cells (8-16 panels) to accommo- date manufacturing growth. The new plasma cleaning system has been designed for small- to medium-sized businesses and R&D institutions that process low-volume, high-mix products. The ModVIA’s compact design saves floor
space while treating PCBs for desmear, etchback, as well as providing surface activation. It handles a broad array of PCB panel technologies in various shapes and sizes including rigid, flexible, through- hole, and blind via, and also works with a range of
process gases, such as Ar, O2, N2, and CF4. The sys- tem comes standard with three elec- tronic mass flow controllers (MFCs) for control and delivery, though its gas system can support up to five. The chamber of the ModVIA is
1,652 x 1,747 x 2,445 mm (65 x 69 x 97 in.) in size, which is smaller than
Technic Offers Custom Electropolishing
Systems Pawtucket, RI — Technic offers elec- tropolishing systems that are suited to process catheters, scalpels, saws, and screens during manufacturing. The systems handle parts that have sizes of a few millimeters up to 20 in2. According to the company, the system offers better part-to-part uni- formity than batch methods, and bet- ter throughput for stainless steels, Monel®, Hastelloy®, titanium, and other related metals.
other VIA systems, but everything else has been upgraded, from the gas distribution and pump package to the user interface and control parame- ters. The chamber processes the PCB panels in separate plasma cells to deliver high etch rates. The chassis houses a high-quality, aluminum plas- ma chamber, control electronics, a 40 kHz RF gen- erator, the pump/ blower package, and an auto- matic matching network. Maintenance access is available from either front or rear panels. The system is EH&S/
ergonomics-compliant and CE marked. Contact: Nordson MARCH, 2470-A Bates
