Heraeus Celcion® Products Earn UL® Recognition

West Conshohocken, PA — Heraeus Precious Metals’ Celcion material sys- tem — including a dielectric, conduc- tor, and solder mask — has been certi- fied and received recognition status by Underwriter Laboratories (UL®). According to the company, the

UL recognition gives customers the assurance that its Celcion material system meets the stringent safety and performance requirements of thermal circuit technology. Passing the certification test and meeting UL’s industry standard for flamma- bility testing is the ultimate seal of approval. Knowing that the system has passed UL’s stringent testing; Celcion has proven reliable, safe and as a highly effective alternative to traditional metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB) manufacturing and in LED thermal substrate applica- tions. The material passed some of the most rigorous tests in the indus- try to gain UL’s recognitions, includ- ing: recognition of materials for use in fabricating UL recognized printed wiring boards; recognition for solder resist for physical, electrical, flam- mability, thermal, and other proper- ties of the materials. Heraeus Celcion is a thick film

material system that was designed to produce electronic circuits for LED

Anderson Power Offers Environmental Boot

Sterling, MA — Anderson Power Products (APP) has made a new addition to the SB Environmental Boot Series, with the release of its SB®50 Environmental Boot. Suitable

lighting on aluminum (Al) sub- strates. Celcion is able to take the same fit, form and function as MCPCBs, but delivers an increased thermal conductivity and high- dielectric breakdown strength. This process incorporates a selective addi- tive deposition that uses material only where it is needed, which results in less material consumption. Using a limited amount of material and removing interface materials reduces the thermal resistance and provides a more direct connection to

the Al heat sink. Celcion circuits typically run

10°C or more cooler than MCPCBs, which allows designers an increase in lumen power output and — there- by — reduces the number of LEDs needed by up to 20 percent. This solution decreases production costs and enables customers to add anoth- er material choice for high-power applications to their design kit, with- out sacrificing performance. The Celcion material system is suitable for use in high-power appli-

cations — including high-power LED substrates (>1W input) found in gen- eral illumination, signs, signals, and displays — with distinguished per- formance benefits in power electron- ics and heaters. With the UL’s certi- fication and recognition, the Heraeus Celcion material system has proven reliable and satisfies customer and

industry standards. Contact: Heraeus, 24 Union Hill

Waterproof protective connector boots.

for a wide range of applications both indoors and out, the SB Envi - ronmental Boots’ soft shell provides water, dirt, chemical and UV protec- tion to SB®50 and SB®120 connec- tors. These IP64 rated, durable boots shield the connectors from water and dirt in both the mated and unmated condition. The boots are designed for both

inline and surface mount applica- tions. Mounting is achieved with the use of wire tie or band clamp. The boots have markings for easy trim- ming of the boot to accommodate the
