According to Suchko, this was not a problem for ECU: “We know that Yamaha is in the procurement process of Hitachi mounters, but we’re very confident in our purchase because we have had nothing but great service with Japan ese suppliers.” He notes: “We almost bought Yamaha before, so it was an easy decision to buy Hitachi/Yamaha; after all, we had Sanyo/Hitachi. Even though it’s the new Yamaha Hitachi line, Hitachi products are superbly designed. You look at them and you can see the thoughtful design everywhere. The way the lid opens and feels solid, also with just enough tint in the view port to make sure that the vision systems work, but you can still see the whole process. We have every confidence in our investment in this equipment.” Suchko concludes: “I guess if a


machine makes you money, then you need to make the logical choice of buying another one; so that’s exactly what we did. These are the top machines in my opinion. If we need another machine, it would be hard not to buy yet another from the same supplier. We are so proud of our Hitachi equipment we keep ‘promo- tional signage’ ready to put up if we get visitors. We have a standing invi- tation to Tom Simpson that we would be happy to show any one (other than our competitors of course) our pro- duction line to prospective buyers of this equipment.
