Congressman Rob Woodall Visits Viscom for 30th Anniv. Celebration

Duluth, GA — Congressman Rob Woodall (R-GA-7) re- cently visited Viscom’s facility in Duluth, GA for its 30th anniversary event. In commemoration of the milestone, Viscom staff, business partners and other members of the business community came together. Rep. Woodall’s visit was part of IPC’s “Meet the Policymakers” program, through which IPC government relations staff arrange opportunities for IPC members to host elected officials at company locations. Viscom is an important supplier of high-quality in-

spection systems for electronic assemblies. “It is impor- tant for the manufacturing sector to reach out to policy- makers and provide a first-hand look at our industry, and I want to personally express our appreciation to Con- gressman Woodall for taking the time to hear our per- spectives,” said Carsten Salewski, CEO of Viscom. Rep. Woodall toured the facility and discussed im-

portant policy and regulatory issues impacting the elec- tronics manufacturing sector with staff members. Of par- ticular importance was the Revitalize American Manu- facturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act, recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, and similar legislation is awaiting Senate approval. The bill will establish multi- ple centers for manufacturing innovation, known as the Network for Manufacturing Innovation. These centers will focus on different technology areas to strengthen ad- vanced manufacturing in the United States.

All Flex Expands Plant and Upgrades Equipment

Northfield, MN — All Flex Flexible Circuits, LLC, manufacturer of flexi- ble printed circuits and heaters, is expanding its headquarters facility in Northfield, Minnesota. The com- pany will be adding on nearly 30 per- cent capacity to accommodate new capital equipment and infrastructure improvements. The company has been manu-

facturing flexible circuits for nearly a quarter of a century and added flexi- ble polyimide and silicone rubber heater circuits to its product line in 2008. All Flex also provides compre- hensive surface mount and thru-hole

component assembly services. The additional space will ac-

commodate a new Dragon HDI/PX Camtek Automated Optical Inspec- tion (AOI) machine that allows the company to further enhance its niche Maxi-flex® capability (circuits >24-in. long). This AOI has the latest optics technology to rapidly scan 3mil line/space and detect fine defects in flexible circuits up to 80-in. long. In addition, All Flex added two

dedicated heater process areas to the other building on the Northfield cam- pus. This 5,000 square foot building purchased in 2013, now houses thick

film heater and silicone rubber heater operations. Thick film heaters are made with glass-like materials that can withstand very hot temperatures. These heaters are a new capability for the company and are printed directly on the surface to be heated. The 28 percent footprint increase will report- edly allow for additional capacity and improved management of manufac-

turing constraints. Contact: All Flex, 1705 Cannon
