For the latest show news and updates follow #ISE2014 Two new faces in MADI USB line-up RME

The world’s first USB3 audio interface and a 128-channel USB 2.0 MADI device are expanding the MADIface range. RME claims that its MADIface XT is the world's smallest mobile interface, providing access to hundreds of audio channels via USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and external PCI Express. An optional Thunderbolt to PCI Express adapter connects the XT to a Thunderbolt cable, prompting the company to claim that the MADIface XT provides the fastest interfacing technologies available for

maximum channel count and lowest latency in a mobile solution. Three 64-channel MADI I/Os are accompanied by 4 MIDI I/Os, one stereo AES/EBU and a word clock I/O. The device also sports two digitally controlled high-end mic/line preamps, two balanced line outputs and one stereo phones output, which are all fully 192 kHz-capable. An optional Advanced Remote Control can be connected to the XT for desktop monitoring and remote control. Also on show, the MADIface USB is a small, bus-powered device which provides

one MADI I/O via USB 2.0 with 64 channels in and out. Advanced features include full dual port operation with 128 channels in and out, mixed and controlled by TotalMix, single port operation with RME's Seamless Redundancy input switching, and standalone operation with another two modes. This can be either single port to two port distribution or bidirectional format conversion optical/coaxial. RME's MIDI over MADI technology can also be used to remotely-control other

Modules extend 4K, eSATA up to 80km THINKLOGICAL

New from KVM signal extension and switching systems company Thinklogical are the SDIXtreme 6G+ Dual Fiber 4K Extension Module and the eSATA Extender Module. The Thinklogical SDIXtreme 6G+ dual

fibre extender is designed to enable the extension of video signals at 4K ultra high definition (UHD) resolutions to distances up to 80km (50 miles), with no latency or loss of quality. Features include four 3G-SDI signals transmitted over two fibres (two 6.25Gbps data streams); multi-mode or

single mode fibre capability; hot- swappable modular form factor; and hot-swappable optical modules for added resiliency. The extenders are of modular construction and compatible with Thinklogical’s Q-Series chassis, which offers redundant, hot-swappable power supplies for reliable operation and maximum uptime. The SDIXtreme 6G+ is part of a line of 4K

signal extension products that includes modules supporting four single link DVI signals, two dual-link DVI signals, four 1.5G SD/HD-SDI signals and two 3G SDI signals.

Thinklogical notes that the eSATA interface is commonly used in professional workstation, video editing and graphic design applications, supporting hard disk drives at throughput speeds up to 6Gbps. The Thinklogical eSATA Extension Module allows eSATA compatible hard drives to be securely extended and switched to multiple destinations as part of a Thinklogical KVM infrastructure. As such, it allows for easier implementation of external data storage, providing support for big data applications. It is said to be of a simple plug-and-play design using two fibres, and is configurable for multi-mode

The T

orus Power AVR2 for large-scale custom installations Power conditioners clean up TORUS POWER

Clean, reliable power can improve sound and video quality and performance, and Torus Power has expanded its TOT Series of power conditioners, which provide clean, protected power. There are now two TOT models, the

TOT Mini (3A and 7A) and the TOT Max (15A). They are based on Plitron toroidal isolation transformers and NBT noise filtering to restore incoming power to its clean original state and protects systems from voltage sags, brownouts and surges. TOT also provides very low source impedance to connected devices, enabling high current delivery instantly. TOT Mini is suitable for use with digital projectors, flat panels, powered speakers, media or source players, processors, and

network devices. TOT Max features a larger capacity toroidal transformer and can be used with most audio systems and mid-power amplifiers. Its top-end AVR2 Series is designed for

large-scale custom installations such as studios, consumer home theatre and audio system installations, and other mission-critical applications. The latest International AVR2 Series features two models: the AVR2 8 CE and AVR2 16 CE. Both provide enhanced control and monitoring via Ethernet (IP) plus automatic voltage regulation, automatic reboots, versatile scheduling options and individually addressable outlet zones. The units come in 3U and 4U chassis

sizes with five or eight outlets and 8A or 16A output current ratings, respectively, with either 220V or 240V input voltages. Stand: 5-R128
