Equinox 73 is a new LCD touchscreen from Vantage that, in conjunction with the company’s companion mobile device apps for Android and iOS, is designed to provide users with a sophisticated yet easy to use home control system. According to Vantage, it can not only be personalised by users to reflect their changing living environments, it can also provide the integrator with a very efficient means for configuring both fixed and mobile device interfaces. Featuring a 7in glass-to-edge

LCD touchscreen, the Equinox 73 employs presence detection and light sensors to automatically wake up to a desired personalised scenario and adjusts to ambient light conditions.

New player will power three zones NUVO TECHNOLOGIES

Whole-home audio products company NuVo Technologies is introducing the next-generation player for its IP-based solution, the NuVo Wireless Audio System, to the European market at ISE 2014. The P3500 professional series player will power three separate zones simultaneously, from a single rack-mountable unit, with what the company describes as an impressive 200W per zone.

As part of the NuVo Wireless

Audio System, the P3500 can work in conjunction with NuVo’s P100 and P200 wireless players, and the P3100 professional series player, to create what NuVo says is a truly customised

mastering-grade audio solution for up to 16 zones. All players offer streaming internet radio and access to network-stored digital audio libraries, and feature convenient control through free apps for Apple and Android mobile devices. NuVo’s stand is also

showcasing a variety of sophisticated, pre-developed control drivers for operating the NuVo Wireless Audio System components through third-party automation systems. With licensed drivers available from Vantage, AMX, BitWise, Control4, Crestron and RTI, integrating the NuVo Wireless Audio System into a larger automation solution is simple and straightforward for installers, says the

company, while offering an exceptional user- experience for the homeowner.

“ISE 2014 will be a fantastic opportunity for

NuVo

to show our European customers some incredible recent developments for the Wireless Audio System,” said NuVo’s vice president of technology, Rick Kukulies. “The numerous drivers released in the last few months provide our

on-screen interface creating an individualised profile dashboard. There is no limit to the number of profiles that can be created. Meanwhile, each dashboard is accessed through a simple on-screen drop down. The touchscreen and apps are initially introduced with nine pre-programmed widgets for easy control of the most essential functions, including lighting, scenes, weather, climate, multi- zone audio, multi-zone video, home theatre, cameras and security. With the corresponding release of Design Center 3.2 (DC, Vantage’s integrator programming tool), widgets are automatically populated with information from the DC file, thereby simplifying dealer interface programming and providing users with a consistent view of system functions, according to the company. Line Source speakers for home cinemas WISDOM AUDIO

Targeting behind-screen installations in mid to large high-end private theatres are Wisdom Audio’s new stackable Line Source speakers, the LS4i and LS3i, which benefit from newly developed high-efficiency, ultra-high output, large-scale planar modules. Cone and dome audiophile

speakers can’t deliver the necessary sound pressure level for larger theatres, while compression horns sacrifice both resolution and intelligibility, but Wisdom claims that planar magnetics can deliver the best of both worlds – without compromise. Three stated advantages of

Line Source speakers are better clarity, more power over distance and higher sensory envelopment, which together create a significantly larger sweet spot within the seating area. “Custom installers,

designers and acousticians need to hear how compelling a multichannel system with planar magnetic line sources really is for medium- to large- scale private cinemas,” said Wisdom’s chief business development officer, Luc Guillaume. Stand: 5-U116
