RESIDENTIAL SOLUTIONS Bathroom entertainment systems PROOFVISION

ProofVision has launched a new top-of-the-range Bathroom TV that is aimed at sound and AV installers “looking for a smart product at a competitive price,” said the company’s MD, William Uttley. It has also introduced a new music system designed specifically for the bathroom. The Bathroom TV has a flush finish and glass front, giving it a sleek look. It features two HDMI ports, plus RS232 and USB

connectivity, as well as an improved viewing angle compared to its existing models. It will also connect a user’s devices via Bluetooth to play music or audiobooks as they relax in the bathroom. It comes with external ceiling speakers. The new music system

incorporates ceiling speakers and a sleek control panel with the option of DAB radio and Bluetooth to connect to the user’s mobile devices. “We have been working hard

with our R&D on a top-of-the- range music system for the bathroom – an area where there is little choice in the market,” claimed Uttley. The Bathroom Music System’s

control panel, meanwhile, “is very sleek and discreet whilst offering a wide range of functionality for the end-user. The bathroom has become a high tech area in recent years and this product really helps advance this further,” remarked Uttley. Stand: 5-S127

The control panel for ProofVision’s new Bathroom Music System Centre channel speaker was two years in development EARTHQUAKE SOUND

After more than two years in development, Earthquake Sound has unveiled the Titan Theia Centre Channel Speaker, which it claims “combines attractive design with brilliant performance”. It has a curved cabinet using an Acoustic Array System Design and includes four 4in Kevlar

cones and two 1in silk dome tweeters positioned front and centre to produce maximum dispersion, advanced image stability and clear detailed audio. It promises extended dynamic

range, including low frequency reproduction, thanks to its patented SLAPS (Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System) 10-inch passive radiator. Each Theia driver is magnetically

shielded to prevent interference, whilst an adjustable rear spike allows the user full control tilt to customise the Theia’s sweet spot.

Other elements of the unit’s

specification include a frequency response of 20Hz-35kHz, 300W power, nominal impedance of 8 ohms, sensitivity of 89dB ± 3dB, and weight of 10kg. Stand: 5-R105

Handing over control RTI

RTI has launched a sleek new wireless remote control and an advanced in-wall controller to give users simpler, more elegant control options. It has also added to its line of XP control processors. The T3x wireless remote combines a flush-mount 3.5in LCD touchscreen and programmable hard buttons with improved functionality. It is designed for simple integration into any installation, while its dual

RF platform provides one-way control via 433-MHz RF or bi- directional communication with RTI processors using 2.4-GHz ZigBee, the mesh networking standard. WiFi is also supported for web browsing, viewing MJPEG video and wireless programme updates. The remote also has integrated grip sensors, an accelerometer, and a touchscreen with haptic feedback.

The new KX3 in-wall controller has a 3.5in LCD and five

customisable hard buttons, and combines the capabilities of a touchscreen controller with a control processor in one unit. It offers all of the benefits of an internal XP series processor (eg. two-way control via IP and RS- 232) plus ZigBee for connectivity with RTI wireless remotes. It has six sense ports with sense-event capabilities, four relays for control via contact closure, an integrated camera and microphone, proximity and ambient light sensors, WiFi and more.

The latest XP processor is the

XP-4, with HDMI video output and two inputs for an on-screen display control interface and switching. It allows the TV to become an integral part of the control system and provides bidirectional communication with supported third-party electronics

In control: RTI’s T3x and KX3 controllers and XP-4 processor

via ZigBee and two bidirectional RS-232 ports. Ethernet allows software downloads, IP control and support for the RTiPanel and Virtual Panel, while a host of other control options are available such as relays, IR outputs and voltage sensing. Stand: 5-R78
