DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Media player is small but powerful

COOLUX

Announced not long before ISE 2014 opened and receiving its first major public showing at the RAI, the new coolux COMPACT Player is described by the company as an extremely versatile hardware-based media player that is both small in size and great in terms of reliability and power.

Whether as part of a cutting- edge digital signage installation, inside a modern museum or even onboard a cruise ship, coolux says that this latest addition to the Pandoras Box product family can play a vital role in a wide variety of different professional playback scenarios. The COMPACT Player’s Playlist

feature is claimed to make it very easy to play multiple media files in a row without the need of programming separate containers on a timeline sequence. Maximum

playback resolution is 2 x 1920 x 1080p at 25/30 frames/second. Unlimited graphics layers are possible, while an interactive web browser is also included. An unlimited number of

COMPACT Players can be centrally controlled and synchronised via the network, using the Pandoras Box Manager software. Multiscreen installations and similar setups are also said to be possible with multiple COMPACT Players. The COMPACT Player was developed for professional 24/7 use and is built using server grade hardware. It features a 120GB SSD (solid state disk) for rapid access to operating system and media asset files, along with three USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports for connectivity. Weight is approximately 4kg, and physical dimensions are 225mm x 40mm x 165mm. Stand: 1-F100

Daktronics is showing its Street Furniture solutions at ISE 2014

Display is Street smart DAKTRONICS

Some of the main on-stand attractions from Daktronics are the company’s 4mm pixel pitch high-resolution displays, coming together as a central video screen and as a long ribbon along the stand space. Visitors can also see the

Daktronics Show Control system first-hand, with attendees able to interface with the software through a touchscreen that

controls the content on every Daktronics display. This control solution manages video and graphics content across both LCD and LED technologies and is aimed at fans, advertisers and sponsors.

Also pole-mounted on the stand are the new 6mm line- spacing Daktronics Street Furniture, measuring 1.90m high x 1.27m wide. This is running scheduled advertising, event announcements and other timely

information to stand passers-by. Each screen’s content is driven by a dedicated Daktronics media player, updated daily with content via Daktronics Venus 1500 or Visiconn control software over a network. Elsewhere around the show, a double-sided Daktronics greets visitors outside Halls 10 and 12. Daktronics is also contributing to the wayfinding solution from the station to the RAI. Stand: 8-N181, 8-N182
