NEWS Q is the A for 1-chip DLP Q&A CHRISTIE

Receiving its first major public showing since its launch in January, Christie’s new Q Series is claimed to achieve best-in- class 1-chip DLP brightness. The Q Series comprises three models. The DWU951 features WUXGA resolution with brightness of 8,500 lumens; the DWX951 delivers the same level of brightness but with WXGA resolution; and the DXG1051 provides 10,000 lumens from an XGA resolution panel. Target applications for the Q Series include rental staging such as concerts and conventions where blending and warping images from multiple projectors onto flat, curved, hexagonal or spherical surfaces is required.

Usable in either single or dual- lamp mode, the Christie Q Series is equipped with eClarity – advanced image processing that is said to significantly enhance images by providing greater control over image sharpness, gloss and shading. Built-in High Dynamic Contrast Range (HDCR),

In your opinion, what is the best thing about the ISE show?

It gives us insight and feedback from our EU regional distributors, system integrators and designers, who all have rich experiences in real application sites. It leads us to figure out the market potential and customer needs of new products and the effectiveness of their features.

As well as announcing updates to its G Series of projectors, Christie is focusing on applications including collaboration, command and control, and large-scale video- mapping. The company is demonstrating its recent

additional excursions into 4K technology (for non-cinema as well as cinema), its Phoenix open content management system, and for collaboration requirements, the Brio. current time? We need to design fibre optic AV extenders in types of cables or small modules to keep the highest signal integrity in data transmission for leading- edge displays or video sources, especially 4K resolutions. We must strive to integrate all digital data into [fewer] data streams, as well as to invent a compact fibre optic module. We’ve kept our eyes on the quality of data compression for IP-based transmission too.

‘ISE leads us to figure out the market potential and customer needs of new products’

Why should delegates visit your stand at ISE 2014? We exhibit and demonstrate many new leading-edge fibre optic AV extenders for HDMI, DisplayPort and Dual Link DVI to accommodate the highest data bandwidth for video, even covering 4K resolution. Such products are designed to be all fibre- detachable with industrial standard connectors for ease of installation as well as to be the smallest module in the industry. Stand: 4-U20
