HDBaseT Modular Matrix with PoE
CYP UK
New from CYP UK is a versatile HDMI HDBaseT Modular Matrix with PoE range. The company is making two models available initially: the 16 HDMI input x 16 HDBaseT output PU-16HBT and the 8 x 16 PU-8H16HBT. The units are able to send HDBaseT signals over lengths of up to 100m via Cat5e/6/7 cable infrastructure, and both models support two-way infrared, RS-232
and Power over Ethernet. Pre-configured to work with the CYP PU-507RX or PU-507WPRX HDBaseT receivers, which are powered using PoE from the matrix, both models come with dual removable internal power supplies, allowing for easy inspection and maintenance with zero downtime. Each bank of eight HDMI inputs (2 x PU-16HBT and 1 x PU8H16HBT) and two banks of eight HDBaseT outputs are easily exchangeable for maintenance.

This means that installers can confidently create a 16-zone AV multiroom system knowing that any maintenance will result in minimum disruption for the user. To aid set-up and configuration,
a DVI output for a local monitor is included, allowing easy testing of all I/O. Meanwhile, IP control capability enables remote access and integration into third-party control systems such as DemoPad. Stand: 4-S65
LED displays are easy if U-Smart SHENZHEN DICOLOR OPTOELECTRONICS
Dicolor’s U-Smart LED display is claimed to be “perfect for concert and event stages due to its lightweight material and easy installation” as the result of a fast- locking device in each corner. The slim 512 x 512mm LED
modules each weigh 12.5kg (about half the weight of previous cabinets) and are simple to plug together. They use die-cast aluminium enclosures, built to tolerances that are controlled to within 0.1mm. The replacement
of any cabinets inside the complete screen is possible during a broadcast without causing interruptions. For outdoor use the displays
can work at temperatures as low as -20º or as high as 60º, and are IP65-rated for bad weather. They also boast high refresh rate, high
A new screen material is being introduced at ISE 2014, embedded with nano mirrors and light absorbing particles to allow a greater than 4K image to shine in less than perfect lighting conditions. The Ambient Visionaire screen material additionally features a light absorption layer and is intended for areas with more light, according to developer Screen Excellence. The new material is being
demonstrated alongside Enlightor 4K, the acoustically transparent (AT) projection surface used in the company's True Aspect Masking (TAM) product line. Screen Excellence claims
that the acoustic response of Enlightor 4K provides a nearly constant attenuation of less than 2dB across the entire audio spectrum, without altering the tonal balance. According to the company, sound absorption in the woven material occurs without

scattering, so the time domain response and the directivity of the loudspeaker behind it remain the same. This allows the sound to travel directly through the screen with very little attenuation. To demonstrate their high-
resolution capabilities the fabrics are on show on the Screen Excellence stand displaying images from a Sony 4K Home Cinema projector. Both Ambient Visionaire and Enlightor 4K fabrics will handle images beyond 4K, so providing the user with a future-proof screen, according to the company. Additionally, KX | AV is using
the Screen Excellence stand to launch a new company that offers state-of-the art control systems. CEDIA fellow and audio industry veteran Anthony Grimani is also appearing on the stand to display his Dimensions4 Home Theatre Acoustical Panels, which are intended to improve accuracy, focus and tonal balance.
