The airline will be branded Nokscoot and will operate wide-body Airbus aircraft on medium- and long-haul international routes, subject to regulatory approval. It plans to start flights in the second half of this year. Nok Air will own 51 per cent of Nokscoot, which will be based at Don Muang airport in Bangkok, and Scoot will have a 49 per cent stake.

TRAVELPORT AND CWT AGREE DEAL
CARLSON WAGONLIT TRAVEL AND TRAVELPORT have agreed a deal to use new technology to allow clients’ travellers in different countries to be served by a single central TMC team. The two companies said CWT will become the
first business travel agency to use Travelport’s Smartpoint desktop system. Smartpoint allows travellers’ profiles from across the world, including all trip information and preferences, to appear on a consultant’s screen with all calls managed by a centralised team. The system has been trialled with a financial services client, which wanted to increase compliance with policy and improve service to its travellers.
SPENDVISION ADDS IMAGE OPTIONS FOR TRAVELLERS
EXPENSES SPECIALIST SPENDVISION has introduced a new service allowing travellers to upload pictures of receipts while on their trips.
The company, which is part of HRG, has enhanced the functionality of its Image Module product to enable users to take pictures of receipts with their smartphones or tablets, and then email them directly into their Spendvision library.
The company added that its Image Module could also be used to link procurement spending with relevant invoices to create a “consistent audit trail and instant visibility and control”. Shane Bruhns,
Spendvision’s CEO, said: “As a veteran business traveller myself, I remember the hours spent processing a pile of paper receipts after a long trip. Thankfully, our Image Module has eliminated
the need to retrospectively reconcile the paperwork. “The enhancements we’ve introduced in the latest release make the process of digitalising this element of expense management even smoother. “This is good for employees, who want to interact with Spendvision on the move, and for finance teams who will benefit from greater accuracy, tighter audit trails and even greater visibility of spend in real-time.”

ITM PARTY RAISES FUNDS FOR DISASTER RELIEF

MORE THAN 130 ITM MEMBERS headed to the Club Ten at the Grange St Pauls Hotel in December, for the Institute of Travel & Meetings’s annual Christmas party. Sponsored by Buying Business Travel,
Wex Corporate Pay, British Airways, American Airlines and Global Hospitality Services, the evening saw plenty of festive fun and raised more than £1,200 for disaster relief charity IODR, which is helping support those in the Philippines
following the recent Typhoon Haiyan. Raffle prizes included British Airways Club World tickets, Amazon Kindle Fires and Little Red tickets. ITM chief executive Simone Buckley said: “It was a great event for our members to wish each other a merry Christmas over a few drinks, and for us to thank everyone for their support and participation in 2013.”
