Floor and wall tile specialist Porcelanosa specialises in the production of porous, stoneware and porcelain tiles in several formats and finishes, many of which are ideal for a spa’s exterior spaces. Popular for outdoor spa areas is its Styledeck outdoor decking, suitable for around pools where heavy usage calls for a resistant and easy-to-clean product. There is also the external anti-slip Arizona Arena floor tile – an internal wall and floor tile with matching mosaic – and the striking new Glasgow wall tile. “It’s very important to consider safety when installing any exterior spa experience,” advises Porcelanosa’s Bathroom Design Manager, Susan Boylan. “That’s why we’ve recently changed our anti-slip finish to a new one, which is softer when dry but becomes rougher when wet.”
Boylan continues: “To add extra slip- resistance, a mosaic tile on the floor adds more grout lines or, alternatively, a beautiful wood-effect tile will have the same effect. Both of these tiles are fantastic for exterior surfaces as they require very little maintenance and look absolutely stunning.”
