It’s time for SPATEC B
illed as the largest meeting to date, this year’s SPATEC Europe will mark the event’s seventh year and the organisers are confi dent it will also be the busiest and most
opportunity-packed yet. Over two days, leading spa buyers will engage in 333 hours of one-to-one meetings with potential suppliers at the event, media partnered by European Spa magazine.
“Our commitment is to put participating suppliers in touch with some of Europe’s most infl uential buyers,” promises Event Director Stephen Pace- Bonello. “Three quarters of the buyers this year will be fi rst-time attendees and among our elite buyer delegates from across the continent we will be welcoming decision-makers from Hilton Worldwide, Marriott Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Accor Hotels and Kempinski Hotels.” One such high-profi le player is Louise Moore,
Director of Spa Operations and Development, Europe at Hilton Worldwide. Hilton’s attendance at previous SPATEC events resulted in a partnership with Universal Companies to provide operational supplies for its US-based spas, and a global supply agreement with Intraceuticals to provide professional and retail products for the group’s new Conrad Spa concept. Describing her reasons for attendance, Moore says: “SPATEC allows us to connect with a wide range

of potential vendors in one venue. We are always seeking new partnerships that would benefi t Hilton Worldwide’s global spa collection.”
Strong supplier support The supplier line-up is equally stellar, adds Pace- Bonello. “We have a host of international companies who will offer their products and services across more than 20 different categories. “Around half of this year’s suppliers are regular attendees who have once again chosen us to showcase their business and we’re also welcoming more than 40 delegates to their fi rst SPATEC experience. As a return SPATEC visitor, Alex De Carvalho, Group Managing Director of Champneys Health Resorts, said: “I was very impressed with the calibre of suppliers at last year’s event. Without exception, everyone did their homework and came prepared to discuss business opportunities. I am looking forward to catching up with the latest developments in the spa world, both in terms of new equipment and ways we can enhance the experience we provide our guests.” With more than 1,000 appointments scheduled for this year’s event, Pace-Bonello concludes: “I have no doubt that this year’s show will be the largest and most European yet – a valuable platform for every attendee to ensure 2013 is their most successful year to date.”
