UK: Handmade cosmetic retail company LUSH has unveiled plans to expand its in-store spa concept. LUSH Co-Founder Rowena Bird said LUSH’s
fi rst two spas in North America in the fi rst half of 2013 – in New York and Philadelphia. Additional locations will also be added in Japan as well as a new LUSH Therapist Training School, which will offer three-month long classes.
There are currently six LUSH Spas in the UK,
two in Japan, one in Korea and one in Paris. Bird, said: “Our aim is to position new spas in a
spine formation throughout a country, so customers can easily travel to them. We are also seriously looking throughout Europe for any spa location opportunities and will continue to open in spas around the world with our customers in mind.” Marketed as a ‘traditional English country spa’, the LUSH Spa concept was inspired by infl uences as diverse as birdsong, traditional English music, the scent of an English country garden and a calming cup of tea in a cosy cottage kitchen.

Jess McEvoy joins Natura Bissé
Italy: As part of the ongoing renovation of the Toscana Resort in Castelfalfi , Italy, plans have been revealed for a new spa hotel, to open in 2014.
Set in the heart of Tuscany, the 800-year-old estate opened its inaugural hotel, La Tabaccaia, in March 2013, with further
development planned to include a trio of hotels.
