as set for hunting at three pounds, the trigger is passing all of my paper testing with flying colors. Accuracy is nothing but outstanding, and when published as a full review the targets will for sure draw some attention. To date, paper punching indicates a sub ¹⁄₂ moa rifle is in my hands … a very basic Model 10 (Police Sniper). Chambered in 308 Win. (7.62 NATO), the rifle is a no frills $500.00 and change (wholesale) product that once had an AccuTrigger that shot well, but not what I wanted in the rifle. Interested in the Timney transition? ECONOMY GENERAL PURPOSE HANDGUN

It is not often that I will suggest an

old military Walther handgun design for use by varmint hunters, but given that there is of late a flood of WW II P-38 9mms on the market based on the police P-1 Walther design, I decided to make an exception in this case. Cur- rently, quality-built handguns are not a low budget item at all. The arrival into the states of the P-1 from Germany, as

offered through Century Arms, allows a buyer to own a quality German Wal- ther design that is considered by many the father of the Beretta 92-F, and even several Smith & Wesson autoloading frame systems. The P-1 is exactly the same gun as the famed Walther P-38, but built with an aluminum frame rather than steel. This reduces carry weight. Loaded, the gun will run two pounds even. I own one of these automatics in 9mm Luger and have found it to have German dependability. It’s well-made, and the best part is that it sold for under $350.00 and change. If there are any drawbacks to the

P-1 it is the fact that the 9mm cartridge it’s chambered for won’t accept shot charges, as in snake control loads, and for the most part it is a rather lackluster cartridge design in terms of power. Given the other cartridge options we have in hand cannons, the 9mm Luger is a wimp of sorts, but on the other hand nothing you would ever want to be hit with either. If you’re interested in one of these affordably priced shooters, ask your local gun dealer to check out Century Arms, Inc. It would be the best

place to start. NEW GLASS FROM BUSHNELL THE LEGEND ULTRA HD 4.5-14X44MM

After recently returning from

Australia on a two-week scrub bull hunt and shooting the Browning X-Bolt chambered in 325 WSM, I can say for a fact that the new Bushell Legend Ultra got a real workout as it was dragged through days of hot, dry, dusty out- back bush while spotting and stalking the massive scrubs of the Queensland Cape. The Bushnell Legend is a 4.5- 14x varmint/big game scope with all the bells and whistles found in better grade scopes. This system carries some glass that is nothing but class in terms of its ability to see through shadows in the deep bush, pick up movement with great light gathering ability even close to the end of the day, and with its ¹⁄₄ moa adjustments tends to stay spot on during a run-through of its power range. It is completely repeatable when adjusted for elevation or windage and then returned to a proper zero. Hunting for a full month down under resulted in not a single problem

The new Nightforce MOAR™ (Minute Of Angle Reticle) is a major advancement in precision shooting. A floating center crosshair two MOA wide and two MOA tall provides a precise aiming point… especially on smaller targets at longer ranges. One-MOA elevation and

windage spacings result in more accurate rangefinding and holdoffs.

MOAR PRECISE. MOAR INTUITIVE. MOAR VISIBLE. OUR NEW MOAR RETICLE.

Thicker line subtensions make it easier to see in low light and against dark backgrounds. The detail and speed provided by the MOAR™ make it ideal for field tactical applications, long- range hunting and varmint shooting. In every regard, it’s MOAR of what you’ve been waiting for in a reticle. And it’s only from Nightforce.
