is it just a matter of time? I am not sure if vibratory case
cleaners or case tumblers actually fall within the strict definition of electronic but they are very useful tools on a re- loader’s bench. I have used both types and cannot tell the difference between them in terms of performance. Several types of media are suitable
to polish cases. Normally I use ground walnut shell. Other reloaders use corn- cob media or sawdust. A non-ammonia polish is preferred. Just ensure that none of the media remains stuck in the primer pocket flash hole.
An ultrasonic cleaner is another useful item that can assist a reloader. It can be used to clean cartridge cases and they do a better job than other methods in that they clean the inside of the case, preventing any potential buildup of combustion residue.

curate, though I am not sure that they are any better or for that matter more accurate than the dial type. I guess it depends on your personal preference. In a similar vein, electronic outside and tube micrometers are available for the various tasks required of these tools on the reloading bench. It is, I suggest, a good idea to keep spare batteries avail- able as they do tend to go flat at the most inopportune moments!
Case preparation tools are capable of carrying out the multiple tasks of

chamfering, deburring, primer pocket cleaning and flash hole deburring. Some models also are used to turn case necks, probably a lot quicker than by hand. Electronic screwdrivers may be used for all or any of these tasks, and it is possible to buy tools that carry out multiple tasks at the one work station. Electronic case trimming tools are very useful if there is a lot of brass to be attended to, and there are several models available on the market. So far no one has come up with an electronic reloading press … or

Several dedicated types of ultra- sonic cleaners are on the market but there are other alternatives and they need not be expensive. My current model is an electronic jewelry cleaner, for $25.00. It works as efficiently as a cartridge case cleaner, even if of limited capacity. The cleaning liquid is simplic- ity in itself – 300 ml. of water with a level teaspoon of Cream of Tartar and a similar amount of kitchen detergent. The whole process takes only minutes to process a batch. Some research on the Internet or
asking your mates is a valid starting point to discover what suits your re- quirements before laying out any cash. Electronic devices of any sort seem to fluctuate in price considerably. In the field there are other very useful devices, such as electronic range- finders, but they are outside the scope of this article.
