their way around air rifles and they can really bring out the absolute best from these machines. All I can say is do your research and ask a lot of questions before you ship off your prized rifle for some modifications. CONCLUSION
The Steyr LG 110 Hunting is an
impressive air rifle, to say the least. It feels like a blend between a precision match rifle and a high-power hunting rifle. The trigger is fabulous and many shooters in the air rifle community consider it to be one of the finest factory- built air rifles on the market. With just a few simple tweaks, I was able to pro- duce tiny bug-holes on demand at 30 yards, and it’s absolutely devastating to pigeons and ground squirrels out to 100 yards. Since it’s a single-shot rifle, this
may be considered a disadvantage to some hunters, but I think it just de- pends on the volume of shooting you are doing. The receiver is open enough to make loading pellets easy, as long as you don’t mistakenly throw away the small foam O-ring that sits around the chamber, preventing the pellets from falling into the machined groove and becoming stuck. Other than the considerable muz-
zle report from the rifle, there is really nothing I would change or improve on with this design. Some kind of over- the-barrel shroud to reduce the muzzle report would be well received on this rifle. I know some air gun smiths who are installing quick-fill adaptors on the air cylinder, so you can fill directly from the dive tank with a flexible cable hose connection and not have to take the cylinder off the rifle. I will put in a word of caution on this modification. Chances are you will void your air cylinder war- ranty if you do this. PRICE TAG
Of course the customer pays
handsomely for the LG 110, retailing at Precision Airguns and Supplies for $2,500. This is the top-end of the price spectrum, and other than a few other premium air rifles, very few exceed the $2,000 price range. For rifles of this kind, you want to deal with a reputable dealer who will offer solid customer service and warranty support. It also does not hurt if your dealer is an avid air gun shooter like Jim, giving them much more insight than just a regular dealer.

If you are new to the air rifle game,
you’ll need to add in a DIN valve for about $45 to $150, depending on the features you select, and an aluminum diving tank for about $125.00. This does not include the scope or rings. As you can see, the initial investment is substantial, but keep in mind, 5,000 JSB pellets will run you about $150.00 – not very much when compared to rimfire ammunition. As a final note, one of the best
Internet resources that I have found dealing with air gun technology has been Airgun Advice. I personally have spent hours combing through the posts, learning about all the different rifles and accessories that do and don’t work. I’ve listed a link to the website below. Since this was new ground for me,
I relied heavily on a few key individuals who helped bring me up to speed in the
