The Sisk action can be mated with any stock that will accept a Remington Model 700 action. That allows using a variety of aftermarket stocks and accessories on the Sisk action.

22-inches in length. The barrel has a 1:8 rifling twist. Sisk does not like that fast of a twist for the 22-250. He believes a slower twist, like a 1:12, provides better accuracy with the most commonly shot 22-caliber bullets that weigh up to 60 grains. But I insisted, and he relented. He coated the action and barrel with black Cerakote. The action will accept any after-market Remington trigger, and he installed a Timney trigger set with a sweet pull of 2.5 pounds. He put it all together in a High Tech Specialty classic synthetic stock with a cheek piece. I mounted a Redfield Revenge

cartridges. A cartridge placed on top of the magazine follower also can be pushed directly into the chamber with- out a hitch. Even an empty case feeds out of the magazine or from the top of the follower without a catch. I shot about 300 factory cartridges

and handloads through the rifle with no problems and some great accuracy and velocities. The velocity was quite impressive

from a few of those loads, despite the rifle’s short 22-inch barrel. For instance, the Winchester Supreme 35-grain Lead Free Ballistic Silvertip had an average velocity of 4,402 fps. Winchester Am-

munition quotes 4,350 fps for their load. The Hornady 40-grain V-Max clocked an average of 4,294 fps with 42.5 grains of Hodgdon CFE 223. Hodgdon’s reload- ing manual lists 4,328 fps with a 40-grain bullet with half a grain more CFE 223 from a 24-inch barrel. The Sisk rifle shot the best with

bullets from both ends of the bullet weight spectrum. The 40-grain V-Max, loaded with CFE 223, shot a 0.29 inch three-shot group at 100 yards and a 1.28 inch group at 300 yards. The Barnes 69-grain Hollow Point Match Burner and Sierra 77-grain Hollow Point Boat Tail MatchKing were close behind with three-shot groups a bit under and over 0.6 of an inch at 100 yards.
