TE’s FAS-T Cee-Lok Connectors from Peerless
Bethpage, NY — Now available from Peerless is TE Connectivity’s new CeeLok FAS-T connector system a rugged, small form factor, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, field terminable I/O con- nector for the aerospace, defense and marine marketplace. The CeeLok FAS-T connector
easily meets today’s high speed sig- nal requirements and the expected 10Gb/s speeds needed in the future. This new connector has crimp-snap contacts that enable easy termina- tion and field repairability. In addi- tion, its special, integral back shell with 360° shielding and single-piece design drives down weight and cost, while significantly improving overall system performance. The connector’s small form fac-
tor — shell Size 8 (0.750-in.) — uti- lizes a panel cutout of 0.698-in. (17.7mm) diameter while maintain-
ing outstanding signal integrity because of the patented T-shaped pin pattern that provides noise cancella- tion and decoupling to minimize crosstalk. In addition, the Cee -
Lok FAS-T connector has been designed to easily survive harsh environ- ments in military, commer- cial aerospace and marine/ offshore applications. The CeeLok FAS-T

connector is a true 100W impedance connector that is compatible with Cat5e, Cat 6a and various other protocols ranging from the traditional 90W USB 2.0 to the more widely used
110W IEEE 1394 “fire wire”. Available in both cable-applied
and printed circuit board varieties, the CeeLok FAS-T connector pro- vides a means of transmitting high speed signals from the printed circuit board to system peripherals without sacrificing speed, panel space, or
environmental performance. Contact: Peerless Electronics,

Richmond, BC, Canada — Point Grey has added new 2.8 megapixel models to its Flea®3 line of GigE Vision digi- tal cameras. Building on the compa- ny’s extensive experience with Sony CCD technology, the Flea3 FL3-GE- 28S4 monochrome and color models use the all-new, highly sensitive Sony ICX687 EXview HAD CCD II™ image sensor to deliver high resolu- tion, high quality images in a com- pact and low-cost package. Compared to other CCD devices,
EXview is known for higher quantum efficiency, reduced smear, and in - creased near-IR response. The Sony ICX687 builds on the success of the popular ICX274 2 MP CCD by offering more pixels and better sensitivity in the same 1/1.8-in. optical format. The FL3-GE-28S4 camera runs
at 15 FPS at full 1928 x 1448 resolu- tion, and even faster using smaller regions of interest. The Flea3 meas- ures just 29 x 29 x 30mm — making it the world’s smallest GigE Vision camera; it weighs just 38 grams without optics. This combination of resolution, sensitivity and size make these models suitable for applica- tions in factory automation and machine vision; medical and life sci- ence applications such as fluores- cence and microscopy; and intelligent transportation systems. Like all Flea3 GigE cameras, the

new models offer a host of features unique in their class, including an 8- pin opto-isolated GPIO for industrial triggering and strobe output; 1 MB non-volatile flash memory for user data storage; and on-camera frame buffer for retransmitting images. The Flea3 complies with version 1.2 of the GigE Vision specification, which allows the camera to work seamlessly with software from Cognex, Math - works, Matrox, MVTec, and NI, as well as with Point Grey’s own
FlyCapture SDK. Contact: Point Grey Research
