First UL J1772 Level II 75 Amp Connector from ITT

Santa Ana, CA — ITT’s SAE J1772 Coupler Plug, recently featured on an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, developed to be a standardized, home-based EVC Series elec- tric vehicle charging connec- tor. The design is based on its proven HEP Spring contact technology. The EVC Series connec-

tor J1772 Coupler Plug is an integral part of the electric charging system design be - cause most standard home- based car chargers in the United States are built to pro- vide a flow of 110V, however the charging solution that incorpo- rates the J1772 Coupler provides a 240V stream of electricity. The EVC Series charging

options include 75A/240V, 30A/240V, 15A/240V, and 15A/120V. Designed specifically for electric vehicle charg- ing applications, the SAE J1772 is capable of performing Level I and II charging from a low-end of 15A/120V to a high-end range of 75A/240V. The inlet connector includes fin-

gertip protection on the power and ground pin contacts and also has an enhanced cable management system using ITT’s VEAM CIR series back-

Scottsdale, AZ — NKK Switches has introduced the YB2 Series of 24mm square, flush mount and tamperproof panel seal pushbutton switches. These devices are especially suitable for applications that require a low- profile, yet secure and splash-proof design. Every interface design has its own special requirements, especially those that will be used in potentially damaging environments. According to the company, the new square YB2 Series gives design engineers a robust switching device with a multi- tude of options. This customization allows the company to tailor each YB2 device they order to meet their precise needs. Available in both illuminated

and non-illuminated models, the new switches have an 18mm diameter square actuator. They also have the industry’s shortest above-panel dimension of 1.8mm for a splash- proof device. The tamperproof design is complemented by dust-tight and splash-proof panel seal protection, providing a defense against low pres- sure jets of water from all directions. These devices meet IP65 of IEC - 60529 standards. The illuminated pushbuttons

use bright or super bright LEDs. Super bright LED options include blue, green and white. Bright LEDs are available in red, green and amber, with matching color caps and built-in ballast resistors. Bezel options are silver or black. Cap color options for non-illuminated models include white, red, green, yellow or

tion due to the snap-action contact mechanism. This ensures clear cir- cuit status and is supplemented with a latch-down actuator for maintained models. The YB2 Series also has a distinctive long stroke and light actu- ation.

Design engineers can also

choose either power rated or logic- level options. Ratings are 3A at 125VAC, 3A at 250VAC or 3A at 30VDC for power models, and 0.4VA@28VAC/DC maximum for logic level versions. The switches have a flammability rating of UL94V0. Mechanical life is said to be 1,000,000 operations minimum for momentary circuits and 200,000 operations minimum for maintained circuits. Electrical life is 100,000

operations minimum. Contact: NKK Switches, 7850
