Phoenix Contact: Hi Performance Connectors

face time

Middletown, PA — Phoenix Contact’s PC 5 connector fami- ly now comes in a more com- pact design. The dimensions are 15 percent smaller than the original design, while maintaining the same high- performance specifications of the original PC 5 connector. Using the new connectors, installers can wire currents up to 41 amps UL and conductors up to 8 AWG in a smaller space. This allows a more com- pact equipment design. All of the connectors are plug-com- patible to the existing PC 5 and PC 4 headers and panel- mount plug connectors. The updated PC 5 connectors

Walter Intros Steel Turning Improvements

Waukesha, WI — Walter USA, LLC has introduced Walter Valenite Tigerztec® Silver for turning — a combination of three new insert grades and four new geometries developed to boost the productivity of steel turning applications by up to 75 percent. The Tigerztec Silver advantage

begins with a newly formulated alu- minum oxide coating with an opti- mized microstructure that delivers superior resistance to crater wear and flank wear as well as to plastic deformation, considerably reducing machining times. boosts coating toughness and ensures higher process reliability in mass produc- tion. The inserts also incorporate a

new micro-edge technology that makes it possible, in some cases, to increase tool life by over 30 percent, and a new silver flank face for easier wear detection. In addition, the insert seating surface is ground after coating to ensure optimum seating in the toolholder. This combination of advanced

material and innovative design appears in three new grades and four new geometries. The new grades are

Complex components need reliable protection.

When you need to precisely spray and dispense liquid coatings, the SCS Precisioncoat selective spray and dispense coating system provides maximum accuracy and fl exibility. The system applies 100% solids, solvent-based and water-based coatings via three to fi ve axes. Optional features, such as needle calibration, vision system, offl ine programming and barcode reader capability, meet any production requirement.

SCS Precisioncoat systems connect seamlessly with SCS thermal and UV cure units, enabling components to move from coating to curing without operator intervention.

designated WPP10S, WPP20S, and WPP30S. WPP10S offers the highest temperature resistance and hard- ness. It has excellent wear resistance and is suitable for processes ranging from continuous cutting to minor interrupted cuts at very high cutting speeds.

WPP20S, the medium-grade, is

suitable for use as a universal cut- ting material for processes ranging from roughing to finishing, and brings exceptional reliability to auto- mated production. WPP30S, the toughest of the three, brings maxi- mum reliability to the most difficult applications, such as interrupted

cuts and unstable conditions. Contact: Walter USA, LLC,
