Rolling Meadows, IL — DEK has launched its new closed-loop innova- tion, ProDEK. Calling the product “revolutionary”, the company said that it reaches new levels of dynamic

print process control, enabling real- time continuous alignment adjust- ments and cleaning frequency adap- tation — dramatically enhancing throughput and improving yield while limiting the need for operator intervention. According to the com- pany, ProDEK makes the printer smarter and more intuitive. Built on special print software capability, ProDEK works in tandem with sol- der paste inspection (SPI) data and

data feeds delivered to the printer by the SPI system, ProDEK monitors a configurable quantity of printed cir- cuit boards (PCBs), sending an inde- pendently corrected forward and reverse offset to the printer, which then adjusts paste on pad alignment in real-time. Utilizing barcode track- ing technology, ProDEK guarantees printed and inspected board synchro- nization. In addition to real-time, continuous alignment adjustments which add zero throughput overhead to the print/inspection process, ProDEK also monitors high area warning counts from the SPI data feeds, which may be an indicator of excessive or insufficient understencil cleaning. This unusual technology can automatically adapt the cleaning frequency to suit current process con- ditions, optimizing the understencil cleaning process and thereby intro- ducing more stability while signifi- cantly reducing consumables usage. Available on all new DEK print plat- forms and retrofittable on installed DEK systems, ProDEK is currently compatible with SPI technology from CyberOptics, Koh Young and Parmi. ProDEK has been proven to proactively prevent defects, optimize

PCB Assembly Express: New Quoting and Ordering System

Lake Oswego, OR — PCB Assembly Express, has upgraded its website to next-generation capability. While other sites typically require a request for quote submission, and get back to the customer later with a quote, PCB Assembly Express offers both online quoting and ordering in real time for PCB Design & Layout, PCB Fabrication, and PCB Assembly. The company provides quality

assembly from prototype to high vol- ume, and has now added new PCB services and partnerships. And, according to its president, Agustin Araujo, because of the thorough “matrix” quoting system, online quotes are firm quotes, not estimates that are subject to additional charges. The enhanced website is further

distinguished as being the only one on which it is possible to quote and order both U.S. and Offshore servic- es. Quoting both U.S. and Offshore at the same time allows customers to compare pricing and other advan- tages such as lead time; and this enables them to make better- informed decisions. The company’s US-based as -

sembly process is especially suitable for fast-turn prototypes to low-vol- ume (1-100) and Hi-rel or ITAR, while its offshore partners allow it to service high volume production needs at the lowest possible pricing. Working with carefully selected

partners such as sister company PentaLogix, with its SmartDFM™ design rules check, ensures the best prototypes possible. And because of the recent partnership with Newark - / element 14, engineers needing turnkey services now have access to

hundreds of top electronics brands. Contact: PCB Assembly

print performance and ensure the highest possible first-pass yield. When field tested at several leading electron- ics assembly firms, ProDEK results revealed that the offset correction

functionality alone reduced defects by

nearly 50 percent on average. Contact: DEK, 1785 Winnetka
