Electronic Assembly Products Intros Optilia Optical Inspection System
Dayton, OH — Electronic Assembly Products (EAP) is now representing and distributing Optilia brand high- definition optical inspection systems in the United States. EAP provides sales and support for the W10x-HD and W20x-HD camera systems for use in precision inspection, repair and quality control departments. The W10x-HD is a full high definition inspection system that allows the user to view objects on a monitor up to 70X their actual size. The W20x- HD is a similar high-definition sys-
tem that provides additional magni- fication for a smaller field of view up to 200X the actual product size. The W20x-HD is used for very small products and components that can- not be thoroughly inspected with unaided human vision. The W10x-HD and W20x-HD
assist the user in examining connec- tions, soldered joints, defects and inconsistencies on the production line. When connected to a 1080p monitor, Optilia’s inspection systems provide crisp resolution and high
contrast, aiding in identifying quali- ty issues in precision products. Optilia optical inspection sys-
tems are suitable for: invasive med- ical device manufacturing, such as catheters and stents; precision tool- ing; contact lens and eye care prod- uct manufacturing; printed circuit board (PCB) production, repair and rework; fiber optic cable production; hypodermic needles and syringe fab- rication; post production inspection; industrial test and measurement; micromechanical research, design

BPM Microsys Enhances Empty Socket
Test Software Houston, TX — BPM Microsystems has released BPWin Version 5.22.0, which includes an enhancement to the Empty Socket Test that will now cycle when the interlock has been opened, further reducing the risk of double stacking devices, thus improving programming yield and quality assurance. The risk of double stacking a
device in a socket increases when the interlock is opened during a job ses- sion. By downloading the latest BPWin software release, automated programming system users can reduce this risk as the Empty Socket Test will now perform after the inter- lock has closed, the job session has resumed, the device operations have completed, and the Pick-and-Place has removed all known devices from the programmer sites. If the software then detects an unexpected device in a socket, an Operator Message will notify the user to remove the device from the specified programmer site. The Empty Socket Test
enhancement helps further reduce the risk of double stacking a device in a socket, which could result in blank devices populating the output media station.
