Enjoy a light tea luncheon in the Dining Room of the Historic 1856 Kennicott House. Grove staff will be dressed in period attire and instruct guests in manners and the history of Ladies Teas. Saving Peacock Prairie
Meet author Beatrice B. Popelka whose book “Saving Peacock Prairie” details the efforts of a group of Chicago area citizens to save a small piece of Illinois history.
Ms. Popelka will present a synopsis of the history of the Peacock Prairie along with how she and other members of the Peacock Prairie Preservation Project saved the prairie. This is a free program, and Ms. Popelka will be available to sign copies of the book after the presentation.
