Recreation Leisureships So no child is left out by financial need

Provided through a partnership between the Glenview State Bank, Glenview Youth Services and the Glenview Park District.

Recreation leisureships are available throughout the year to those families who find it difficult or otherwise impossible to register their children for park district programs due to financial constraints. Types of leisureships offered include:

> > Payment Plans which allow participants to spread the payment of a program fee over a period of time.

> > Partial Leisureships which allow participants to pay a reduced fee for a program.

> > Full Leisureships which cover the total program fee.

For more information or to apply for a recreation leisureship, call Jason Hickman, Director of Recreation Services for the park district at (224) 521-2548 or Alison Guenther of Glenview Youth Services at (847) 724-2620. Leisureship applications are available at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., the park district’s temporary office, 1215 Waukegan Rd., or Glenview Youth Services, 3080 W. Lake Ave. A park district program registration form and Leisureship application may also be downloaded from the park district website, glenviewparks.org. The Glenview Park Foundation

The Glenview Park Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation formed in 1996 to support the Glenview Park District in the delivery of recreation opportunities to Glenview. Two events help raise funds used for Foundation projects: The Firecracker Classic Golf Outing at The Glen Club and the 3v3 Youth Soccer Fest at Gallery Park, both held each year in June. The Foundation has also created an Endowment Program to encourage potential donors to include the Foundation in planned giving programs and estate planning.

Through a partnership with the North Suburban Special Recreation Foundation (NSSRF) the North Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA), the Glenview Park District and 12 North Shore communities, the Foundation has funded the transformation of the Willow Park Fieldhouse into a fully accessible program space for NSSRA to use to program for its participants. This facility will serve as a model for similar spaces in other NSSRA communities.

For the third year in a row, the Foundation has also contributed to the Glenview Park District’s “Leisureship” Program. The Glenview State Bank and Glenview Youth Services are valued partners in this effort. Thanks to this partnership, more families than ever before have been assisted in enrolling their children in wholesome recreational programs and activities.
