General Interest Frisky Frogs —


Have you ever seen a frog up close and personal? You and your preschooler will discover the wonderful world of frogs and toads - and even find out what their skin feels like. We’ll learn how to tell the difference between them, what they like to eat, where they live and what sounds they make. NOTE: Fee is per adult/child pair. Tales & Trails —


Bring family and friends to share some dessert around the campfire while The Grove staff entertains you with a story or songs. Add to that some interesting nature discoveries along Grove trails for a very pleasant evening. Dress for the weather. (Program will be held in the Interpretive Center if weather is bad.) The mere thought of snakes may send some people screaming from the room, but this exciting program is designed to convince even the most faint-of- heart how interesting out scaly friends really are. Meet some common Illinois snakes and their babies, discover how they move and even watch them feed! Hands-on encounters and activities will help shed light on some of the common misconceptions about these legless wonders. NOTE: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pond Explorers —

Animal Rehabilitation Presentation –


Did you ever wonder what to do if you find an injured or orphaned wild animal? This enlightening program with a former wildlife rehabilitator will answer all of your questions. An entertaining slideshow will be followed by hands-on demonstrations showing how to safely restrain and transport a needy animal to a licensed care facility. Information and a list of care-givers will be provided. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. WHO: All ages (not recommended for ages 4 yrs. and under) WHERE: The Grove, 1421 Milwaukee Ave. WHEN: Sat., March 24, 2:30-4 pm FEE: Free Program is limited to a maximum of 50 people.
