Our new Ken Burns American Journeys partnership features the development of new tours Crafted by Tauck and Ken Burns; one of the first for 2011 was a trip that visits six national parks, Spirit of the Desert: The National Parks of the Southwest. Author and filmmaker Dayton Duncan, collaborator with Ken Burns on The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, introduced “Dawn Patrols and Sunset Scouts,” independent explorations in the national parks at optimum times of the day. Special news at the ms Treasures christening


At a private evening at the Rijksmuseum, during the christening of ms Treasures, Dan Mahar (center) had the honor of announcing that Tauck was voted “World’s Best River Cruise Line” by the readers of Travel + Leisure – and was joined in the celebration by Tauck Directors (from left) Armin Geiger, Steve Marchant, Peter Tanner and Renee Whitecloud.

Over the years, you may have traveled with Tauck Directors Jim Sundby and Jenée Palmer – they have been guiding Tauck travelers for 20+ years to the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Antarctica... What you may not know is that Jenée and Jim are married – and one of the things they most enjoy when not Tauck Directing? Traveling together!


Inspiration in New Orleans


Our Tauck Director Seminar, held earlier this year in New Orleans, was deeply moving for all. In addition to seminars and workshops, there was an amazing service project (page 26). Strong cultural connections were made, highlighted by stirring performances and some very special experiences.
