We don’t often talk about the unexpected challenges that can arise while we are traveling with our guests in exotic destinations far from home because managing them, without missing a beat, is business as usual here at Tauck. Our goal, set down by founder Arthur Tauck himself more than 86 years ago, is to ensure that our guests have the very best possible travel experience with us, no matter what. Over the years, those “no matter whats” have manifested in bad weather, strikes, high water, unexpected closures... and like last year, a pretty strong earthquake in New Zealand. Whatever the challenge, we make sure everyone is safely out of harm’s way and stand ready to make arrangements for anyone wishing to return home. But it’s also those “no matter whats” that make our guests feel an incredible sense of peace of mind wherever they travel with us. It’s not only our responsibility and our job to see to your utmost comfort and satisfaction while you are our guests... it’s the right thing to do.
THE BEAR FACTS Tauck guest Reynolds Young captured the endearing charms of the iconic giant panda, long a symbol of diplomacy between China and countries around the world, when he joined us in China this past year – his photo, submitted in our annual Photo Contest, totally captured our hearts!
Our trip to Australia and New Zealand was the trip of a lifetime, even though we were part of the group that had the unfortunate earthquake in Christchurch. We have bragged to everyone about the tremendous experience that Tauck provides and your phenomenal efforts to get us safely out of the city when no one else was leaving. If you don’t award our TD “Tour Director of the Year” that will be a disappointment to us who had the good fortune to be in her care.
