Our cruise had such a nice mixture of planned activities and time to

explore on our own. Every time we turned around, there was something special planned... a tour of the Budapest opera house, a spectacular gala at a Vienna palace, an organ concert in Passau.

The Prince is charming...

... and his wife, Francesca, (pictured next to her husband on the right in the above photo with Kiki and Dan Mahar) is a delight. Together, they are the consummate hosts of our very private and always fabulous Imperial dinner at their family-owned palace, Palais Pallavicini. They roll out the royal red carpet for our guests on our river cruises (and land tours) visiting Vienna, making sure we are well served, well fed, and wonderfully entertained during a gala evening in their palatial home. This is what we mean by “uncommon access” – once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to go where others can’t, for experiences that can best be described as extraordinary, exclusively Tauck.

Our riverboats are on the move...

Once launched, most riverboats usually spend all their time on the water, leisurely taking in the sights as they cruise up and down the river. But not so for our first-christened baby, ms Swiss Emerald. She has been exploring the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers for the last five years. Call it wanderlust or just a yearning to chart a new course, but last July she made her move to a new river and country – hitching a ride on an ocean-going barge! Talk about discovering new horizons. You will find this pretty riverboat on the Rhône now, steeped in the joie de vivre of France.

Wine a little, laugh a lot Mix the bounty of the land with the fruit of French vineyards, add French waterways and a congenial group of Tauck guests who enjoy immersing in local culture, food and wine and what you’ll experience is a true “bon voyage.”

Waltzing down the Danube Lots of folks join us on The Blue Danube for a lot of reasons. Chief among them are the musical discoveries that make their hearts sing and dance along the way... like private recitals featuring music by Chopin, Mozart and some very inspired guests!
