Did you know?

Trinidad & Tobago is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society and the birthplace of steelpan, calypso and chutney music (a mix of calypso and Indian music).

A contrast of pace – from the sleepy beaches of Tobago to the vibrant parties of Trinidad – and a large cultural melting pot that’s influenced mouth-watering cuisine and a multiplicity of festivals means that Trinidad & Tobago has something for everyone. Trinidad & Tobago is an ideal location for weddings and honeymoons, family holidays, eco-adventure, scuba diving and golf, as well as unadulterated fun in the sun. Trinidad, home to the world famous Carnival, prides itself on being a land of festivals and the cultural capital of the Caribbean. The landscape ranges from lush rainforests and mountains to cane fields and swamps. There is an adventure for every day of the week, from hiking through rain- forests on the trail of hidden waterfalls and exploring deep caves, to cycling through verdant countrysides, turtle watching and kayaking.

Tobago is a premier eco- tourism destination with unspoilt and secluded beaches. Some beaches boast white sands, shallow bays and calm blue waters, others have shallow reefs for snorkelling and some are more exposed to ocean swells, beloved by surfers. The rich, colourful reefs have 300 species of South Atlantic coral and more than 600 species of fish including manta rays, reef sharks, tarpon and goliath groupers.

Hidden gem

With 450 bird species, 620 types of butterflies, 108 different mammals, 2300 flowering plants and 70 reptiles, Trinidad & Tobago is perfection for eco enthusiasts. Tobago is home to the western hemisphere’s oldest protected rainforest and stunning reefs, boasting an abundance of marine life and the world’s largest known brain coral, making the island a diver’s paradise.
