Welcome

Where can you sway to the mellow tunes of reggae, lose yourself in the wild abandonment of soca music and the pulsating sounds of the steel pan; or dance tempestu-

ously to the strains of salsa, compas, merengue or zouk! The Caribbean Tourism Organization welcomes you to its 34 member countries. How many regions in the world can boast four languages – English, Dutch, French and Spanish, peppered with rhythmic Patois and Creole which the locals interchange without even a pause for breath!

How about tempting dishes such as pepperpot, souse, jerk chicken, goat water, shark and bake, oil-down or mouth-watering treats such as mangoes, pineapples, star apples, guavas and other tropical delights, whether served in a fresh fruit salad or a refreshing cocktail? All natural, no preservatives or additives! The Caribbean really has it all: famous cricket icons; lightning speed athletes; exciting and world famous baseball players, spectacular sailing regattas, surfing tournaments, golfing, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking,

dynamic and lively music festivals, awe-inspiring historical buildings or breath-taking scenery against a back- drop of pink, black, white or golden sandy beaches - the choice is yours. From the most luxurious five-star properties, to eclectic boutique hotels, fun-filled family all-inclusives, hideaway villas and family run guest houses – the message is the same - welcome to the Caribbean!

There is so much more to say and so much to see and experience, but why spoil the surprise?
