Antigua & Barbuda is more than just sun, azure-blue waters and an astounding 365 beaches. The twin-island nation provides the ultimate escape with its colonial-era historical sites, wide-ranging leisure activities and captivating culture.

Caribbean Challenge Discover a new beach every day of your vacation. Did you know?

Antigua & Barbuda hosts one of the Caribbean’s largest regattas – Antigua Sailing Week – which attracts competitors from all over the world.

Antigua is distinctly unique thanks to its history, and Nelson’s Dockyard, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an excellent example of Georgian naval architecture with its restored original buildings, forts and museum. St John’s, the capital, offers harbour-front shopping and at the boutique-chic Redcliffe Quay, shops, restaurants and galleries inhabit the historic stone and balconied wooden buildings. Music is integral to Antigua’s culture and the best way for visitors to experience a traditional ‘jump-up’ is at Shirley Heights overlooking English Harbour. There are few more romantic places on earth to renew wedding vows, say ‘I do’, or take a honeymoon than award-winning Antigua with its romantic hideaways and private islands. Swim with stingrays, zip through the rainforest or try one of Antigua’s many water-sports like windsurfing, kitesurfing, deep-sea fishing, sailing and scuba-diving. In Barbuda, a visit to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary is a must as is the 11-mile pink sand beach.

Hidden gem

Barbuda treats those who venture over from Antigua to deserted candy-floss pink beaches like River Fort beach and the stunning 11- mile long Low Bay.
