They offer four departures aweek both fromShenzhen and Hong Kong. Themaritime journey takes between 13 days to Brisbane andMelbourne and 16 days to Sydney. The entire transport time fromEurope to the Australian consignees ranges fromtwoweeks to 18 days. According to Lufthansa Cargo this is a highly competitive mode of freight transportation compared to the 45 to 55 days shipments need if they are sent all theway by ocean freight.


All products are flown as general cargo and can be


booked by forwarding agents under Lufthansa Cargo’s td.Pro branding. They also get a Lufthansa airwaybill number that is valid frombeginning to end, thus including all Jade flights aswell plus themaritime part of the journey between China and Australia. Currently, neither Lufthansa Cargo nor Jade has scheduled services flying‘down under’, so the air-sea concept, oncewell established,might become a valuable tool for those participating in the cargo traffic flows between Europe and Australia.
