DELFIN TECHNOLOGIES Instruments for skin testing and research

Summary Delfin Technologies is a Finnish health technology company that manufactures scientifically validated and portable instruments for skin testing and research. Delfin’s skin measurement instruments are widely used in a diverse range of R&D, academic research, and clinical applications for studying the effects of ingredients, raw materials, formulations and finished products on skin. Delfin instruments allow the creation of reproducible study

protocols to gather objective, reliable and scientifically valid data to support efficacy claims and to guide product R&D. Skin measurements allow testing laboratories and manufacturers to test formulations at all stages of the development process.

Delfin Beauty Transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and skin surface hydration in

the stratum corneum are probably the most studied skin properties in the cosmetic field. Delfin also has technology that enables measurements of skin water content deeper into the skin than just at the skin’s surface level. This unique technology helps to distinguish products that hydrate the skin at the surface level from products that can improve hydration deeper into the epidermis. Portable and wireless Delfin instruments provide meaningful and

understandable measurement data and are extremely practical and quick-to-use. Delfin also offers easy-to-use software for designing and conducting measurement projects and storing the measurement data.

Products VapoMeter The VapoMeter is an easy-to-use closed chamber instrument to assess skin barrier function and transepidermal water loss (TEWL) in vivo and in vitro. The measurements are unaffected by the instrument’s orientation and ambient airflows.

MoistureMeterSC The MoistureMeterSC is an instrument for measuring skin surface hydration. The MoistureMeterSC is non-sensitive to electrolytes of formulations and the built-in pressure sensor assists with consistent skin surface hydration measurements.

MoistureMeterEpiD The MoistureMeterEpiD measures deep skin hydration at epidermal level. The measurements provide important information to assist with understanding skin healthiness and the effect of products and ingredients on the skin.

SkinColorCatch The SkinColorCatch is a precise all-in-one colorimeter for measuring skin colour, melanin and erythema. The SkinColorCatch shows the melanin and erythema indices insensitive to each other along with ITA degree and many other colour parameters.

SkinGlossMeter

The SkinGlossMeter is accurate for skin gloss measurements. The measurements of skin gloss are used in R&D of cosmetic and personal care products, claims substantiation and in skin research studies.

ElastiMeter The ElastiMeter is an indentation instrument for skin elasticity measurements. The measurements of skin elasticity are one of the key indicators in determining skin’s condition and the impact of ageing on skin.

SebumScale

The SebumScale is an accurate instrument for measuring the sebum secretion rate on the skin. The SebumScale utilises microbalance technology in measuring the amount of sebum on skin and delivers results in SI-units.

STAR Delfin STAR is a point of sale (POS) consumer skin analysis and skin care product recommendation system.
