elavie Sciences harnesses the power of nature to create innovative products and ingredients for consumer care. With laboratories and scientists specialised in

microbiology, molecular biology and biochemistry, Delavie cultivates organisms from extreme environments to develop ingredients to revolutionise the personal care market.

BOOSTING SPF

Delavie Sciences’ Bacillus Lysate is a novel, patented SPF booster derived from a microorganism that was researched by astronauts on The International Space Station. The lysate is trademarked Certified Space Technology by the Space Foundation, a non-profit advocate organisation that offers collaborations for space exploration and space-inspired industries.

The certification is awarded to products that set the standard for innovation and dependability, originated from space exploration to enhance life on earth.

As an SPF booster, Bacillus Lysate can be used with various UV filters and is compatible with various carrier systems.

Delavie features Bacillus Lysate in its Aeonia skin care range

A 20% SPF boost is typical for sunscreens that utilise chemical or mineral UV filters. However, some formulations have seen SPF boosts of well over 50% with the addition of Bacillus Lysate at concentrations ranging from 3-5%.

ANTI-AGEING EFFICACY In addition to SPF boosting, Bacillus Lysate has multiple anti-ageing functionalities; it is an impressive antioxidant and significantly increases hyaluronic acid production in cells. Furthermore, the lysate stimulates sirtuin activity and helps reverse advanced glycation end products (AGEs). The Bacillus Lysate is available in a liquid suspension, which can be easily incorporated in manufacturing by substituting water. Delavie currently features Bacillus Lysate in its Aeonia age-defying serum. Clinical research has established that the serum immediately improves skin’s firmness, elasticity and moisture levels while decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The substantial benefits also continue to improve over time. Delavie is formulating additional skin care products for the Aeonia line, focused on defying visible signs of ageing. Delavie Sciences creates products of life, for life
