EXECUTIVE NEWS continued
Meet EHN’s new Editor
Andy McVittie is EHN’s new Editor and he will be in charge of the magazine’s printed and online content from the April/May issue onwards. His media career spans 30 years, including
15 of those at the publishing giant EMAP, where he quickly climbed the editorial and managerial ladders, and was soon looking after magazines and projects in gaming, golf, gardening and customer publishing. Andy went
on to run his own media agency for ten years, copywriting and supplying digital services for such clients as Microsoft, BBC Worldwide and Yahoo!, before working on publications covering social housing and railways - both model and real. He is looking forward to meeting hirers and suppliers, and to getting hands-on with equipment.
Hire Network success for Hireforce
The Derby depot of Hireforce Centres was announced at the Executive Hire Show as the Winner of the 2020 Hire Network Award, which is given to recognise excellent service at an individual depot. Hire Network Manager, Kevin Sherwood, pictured left, presented the trophy to
Hireforce Depot Manager, Andy Elkes, and said, “We deal with hundreds of hirers and the Award honours the best of the bunch. We know which depots regularly provide great service, with dedicated drivers, efficient systems, correct paperwork and reliable backup.” The two runners-up were the West Thurrock depot of access equipment specialist, Generation Hire & Sales, and the Barking location of Toga Hire Centres.
Arcotherm races into action
Specialist heating equipment hirer, Arcotherm, is to sponsor Team BRIT, an all- disabled motor racing squad. The team will race in the Britcar
Championship this year and, through its Racing Academy, it hosts track days across the country to give people the chance to drive on a circuit using the latest hand control technology. It was during an event recently
at the Silverstone track that a friend of Arcotherm’s Head of Business, Jim Bush, met the team and noticed how cold everyone was in the pit garages. Hearing the story, Jim, who is pictured (right) with Team BRIT’s Kevin Harrison, arranged for two Fire 25 portable heaters to be supplied to them for future races.
