JCB powers forward

JCB launched a number of new or improved products. Shown alongside the increasingly popular 1.9-tonne 19C-1E electric mini excavator was a new E-Tech fast charge unit for it. Weighing 57kg, this utilises a 415V 3-phase power

supply to charge a four battery pack-equipped 19C-1E in 2.5 hours. Another newcomer is the 1.25Qe single-phase power pack. Weighing 380kg, this is the smallest

of four new models and it has four lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 23kWh, providing an output of 5kVA. The largest model is the three-phase 3.50Qe with eight lithium-ion batteries, a capacity of 46kWhr and an output of 15kVA. All can be recharged from a mains electricity supply or an on-site generator. Prominent outside the front entrance to

the Show was the prototype of JCB’s improved 9-tonne capacity 9T-2 site dumper with a Stage V emissions compliant 55kW (74hp) JCB Dieselmax 430 engine. Interestingly, it incorporated the forthcoming option of new forward tipping skip design for better front visibility. A similar skip option will be available on the latest 6-tonne 6T-2. JCB’s smallest dumper, the 1-tonne capacity 1T-2 High Tip,

has also been improved. The machine on display revealed a new optional Smart Safety Package that provides a tip-alert alarm, the ability to reduce maximum travel speed, and a wider track (up from 850mm to 988mm) to increase stability.

Good vibrations from Trelawny

Trelawny highlighted its all-electric TFP350 heavy duty scarifier, which is claimed to

offer extremely low vibration. It has a 350mm cutting width and features a digital read-out display. Operating depth can be adjusted by the millimetre, for highly accurate scarifying. The angled dust port provides easy connection of an industrial

dust collector. Bluetooth connectivity enables remote diagnostics, with related mobile apps due out later this year.

More from Mace

Mace Industries showed two updated products and brought a prototype for hire industry feedback. The updated Shifta is now 400mm wide, replacing the 300mm and 450mm versions. However, thanks to some design tweaks, it is lighter than the previous 300mm conveyor, and steel rollers replace the plastic ones. The Screena is an updated version

of the Supascreen, which moves the vibrating motor from the centre of the screener to one end, creating a larger screening area and reducing noise. In addition, Mace showcased a prototype crusher, appropriately called the Crusha.
