Get Connected with Manitou
Manitou highlighted the advantages that it says can be achieved with its ‘Connected Machines’ concept. A laptop linked to a large screen demonstrated how this can give real-time access to useful machine data. Using the new app, operators can now determine the location, working hours and fuel consumption of a machine, and receive service reminders and alerts about malfunctions. Manitou can integrate its Application Programming Interface (API) into a hire company’s own system, for managing a multi- brand fleet with a single program.

Trackable Niftylifts
Neatly folded up inside Niftylift’s stand was the manufacturer’s HR12L Electric self-propelled boom lift. With a basket capacity of 200kg, maximum working height of 12.1m and maximum outreach of 6.4m, this British-built platform can now be supplied with a Niftylink telematics system. This has been developed with Trackunit and it is standard on new HRR12
Mk2 machines, as well as the HR15 4x4 Mk3, HR17 4x4 Mk3, HR15N Mk4, HR17N Mk4, HR21 2x4 Mk2, HR21 4x4 Mk2 and HR28 4x4 Mk2 platforms. It is available, with more limited functionality, on other models as an option.

Stage V Hamms from Wirtgen
The Wirtgen Group again had a stand in the Atrium area. Sharp-eyed visitors will have noticed the reference on the stand name board to Wirtgen now being a John Deere company. Despite the corporate
change, the rollers retain their well-respected Hamm brand name and distinctive orange colour. The machines on display were the popular HD8 and HD12 lightweight tandems, which now have Stage V emissions-compliant Kubota engines.
