Just shy of that at 2650gns was Orton Grange Atlantic Raquel, a fresh second calver backed by three generations of VG cows. She sold away to the Bryson family, Catrine, Ayrshire. Espland Windbrook Anthea, a powerful framed heifer with a great udder sold for the Cannon family at 2050gns to Mr Wilson, Blackbyres.


Following that the reserve champion from Brian and Michael Yates’ Logan herd sold at 2000gns to Andrew Waddell, Shotts. This youthful Attic daughter goes back to Newroddige Broker Sonya EX94. Averages: eight cows in milk £1230.38, 74 heifers in milk £1403.91, 20 Orton Grange consignment £1596. (Harrison and Hetherington)


Craven Dairy Auction peaks at £1880 The Craven Dairy Auction in March saw trade peak at £1880 for Mark and Karen Calvert’s pre-sale champion. Sold as part of the ongoing dispersal of the Calton herd, this Shottle sired second calver sold giving 35kg a day to John Howard, Heslaker.
