The champion was everything I was looking for, she is a balanced, tall, dairy, young cow with a beautiful quality udder
hopes she will be on form for Colmar 2016. Commenting on the show Ricky said: “It was a lovely evening show, the standard right through the classes was good. I’d like to compliment the show committee and thank all the exhibitors for putting on a good show of cattle. “The champion was everything I was looking for, she is a balanced, tall, dairy, young cow with a beautiful quality udder. The standard in the senior classes was high and it was an extremely close placing between reserve and honourable mention.” Standing reserve to her was Elwyn and Cheryl Thomas’ three year old class winner Cramar G Sid Cherry. Classified VG88 she is backed by three generations of EX scored dams, her dam being Cramar TT Goldwyn Cherry. She was purchased in January 2014 and stood second at St Clears Show and first at Llanddarog Show 2014. Currently giving 46kgs she is back in-calf to Iota. Feithy Sensation Lilian 136 stood honourable mention for the Jones family’s 2014 Premier Herd. Classified EX93, this third calver gave 10,960kg at 4.64%bf and 3.24%p, she is by Velvet-View-KJ Sensation and her dam is an EX90 scored daughter of the homebred Storm son Feithy Adonic. “I’d like to make special mention to a tremendous heifer that stood top of the two year old in milk class. Although there was no heifer championship Nobold Windbrook Joan is a lovely balanced heifer with a super udder,” added Ricky.
In the junior championship it was AH Wilson’s intermediate yearling class winner Tregibby Lyster Rosie that was tapped forward as the winner. Backed by eight generations of VG or EX classified cows her dam is the EX91 scored Goldwyn daughter
Ridgefield Golden Rosie, while her third dam is Bosdale Storm Rose EX93. This December 2013-born heifer is in-calf to Doorman. “The junior classes were very balanced with a lot of close placings but I was pleased with the very stylish heifer I had champion.” Standing reserve junior champion was the second place intermediate heifer, Hillbarn Shottle Roxy 10 from Jack Watts. This September 2013-born heifer is in-calf to Sammy and due in October. Backed by 10 generations of VG or EX she is out of Frankham Jordan Roxy EX91. Jordan Roxy was purchased for 2200gns at the Frankham dispersal and Shottle Roxy 10 is one of four natural Shottle daughters.
