Born December 2013, she is by Atwood and out of Priestland 5126 Shottle Sizzle VG87, who is one of 10 VG or EX dams. Leading the way in the in-calf heifer class was H Patton and Sons’ Ards Atwood Ashlyn. She is in-calf to Silver and due in October. Her dam is Lomond Damion Ashlyn EX93 and was purchased at the Black and White Sale for 5500gns. Her herd mate, Ards Alexander Tiffany, stood top of the junior heifer in milk class. Born December 2012, she is two months calved and giving 42kg and also stood first in her class at the Irish National this year. She is out of the EX92 Ards Winston Tiffany, who peaked at 13,349kg at 3.36%bf and 2.98%p in her fourth lactation. Last year’s champion Glaslough Miss Petra from David and Kenny Boyd stood top of the mature cow class and the 50t production class. Sired by Mr Minister she is out of Glaslough Lyster Petal EX93 and calved in January with her fifth calf and is giving 50kg a day. She took her second Irish National championship title earlier in the

year and has also won championship honours at Balmoral, Millstreet, Royal Dublin Society, IHFA All-Ireland mature cow, as well as being runner-up for the Baileys title in 2014. Conor McAufield’s success continued in the pairs class when Clonpaddin MPW Jill and Gravelhill Alexander Hope stood top of the line ahead of four other pairs. Alexander Hope stood third in the second calver class behind the champion and reserve.
