In the afternoon, the competitors then showed the calves in the National Calf Show. Although only a minor reflection on the overall junior competition result, the team was pleased when Mark’s calf came second.
Commenting on the trip Jonathan Woodhouse said it had been an enjoyable and educational few days away “I had a great experience. I enjoyed watching the show with the quality of cows that were there. I met some great people and learnt some good skills. All in all an awesome trip.”
Hannah Bown added that it had been an excellent chance to study Italian cow families. “I would like to thank Holstein UK for giving me the fantastic opportunity to go to Italy to represent the UK. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cremona, learnt a lot, met great new people and had lots of laughs and good memories. I saw some excellent examples of the breed and excellent cow families to watch out for in the future.”
